Ebony Jewelwing

This is Florida's most spectacular damselfly.  This beautiful insect can be seen flying gracefully around vegetation growing around small streams.  The immature stages are aquatic and feed on a variety of small organisms including other insects, worms, and arthropods.  (Photo by Sid Dunkle)
